Our Client in the financial industry has a permanent need for a Senior Network Engineer at its Columbus, GA location. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 7 years experience in infrastructure/network environments performing network engineering, design, planning, and implementation. This position is responsible for supporting application infrastructure, application deployment, performance tuning, and updating/troubleshooting services.

Requirements:

* Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline

* A minimum of 7 years experience in infrastructure/network environments performing network engineering(hardware and/or software), design, planning, and implementation

* Experience with Back Office items processing workflow

* Thorough understanding of Metavante Imaging AFS applications

* Expert knowledge of LAN/WAN systems, networks, Windows Operating Systems, DNS, DHCP, VMware ESX, Red Hat, SUSE Linux, etc

* Financial Industry and application deployment experience

* MCSE or VMware Certified Professional (VCP) preferred

* Experience with image cash letter formats and branch capture systems preferred

* Familiarity with MIS DirectMerchant applications, MySQL database systems, and PHP web development preferred

* Experience with graphical remote management tools, command line applications, Windows Shell, and scheduled/automated task management preferred

Responsibilities:

* Engineering, configuration, installation, maintenance, and upgrade of company's physical and virtual server infrastructure

* Provide technical support to various departments and users

* Work on complex application problems of diverse scope and plans large scale system projects

* Serves as a liaison with vendors and other third party providers

* Provide training, mentoring, and leadership to junior network engineers

* Point of contact for the applications/systems projects

* Work with business units to outline the installation of the application, diagram all hardware associated to the application, and design disaster recovery plans

* Provide on-call support for network engineering
