We are currently looking to recruit an Electrical Engineer to work within the Research and Development department. The appointed Electrical Engineer - Research and Development will be responsible for the delivery of innovative electrical engineering solutions, which meet the requirements defined by the R&D department, ensuring that best practice, cost and manufacturability are maintained.
The appointed Electrical Engineer working within in the Research and Development will be responsible for the following Key Responsibilities;
* Research and Design of integrated product electrical and bonding systems, whilst ensuring that all aspects of the relevant airworthiness and public health requirements are in compliance.
* Risk Assessment for Cost and weight impact to potential future products.
* Will be expected to communicate effectively and professionally with customers and suppliers.
* Negotiate with suppliers in the development and introduction of new technologies, materials and processes to products.
* Participate in Design Reviews throughout each phase of the New Product Introduction process with the R&D team.
* The selection and application of materials, components and processes appropriate to each design criteria.
1.Drawing and modelling responsibilities.
a.Wiring diagrams.
b.Electrical Load Analysis
c.Electrical panel assembly and detail metalwork.
d.Loom drawings.
e.Component mounting details.
2.Support
a.Support problem solving during development of prototypes, manufacturing build process and functional testing.
The appointed Electrical Engineer working within in the Research and Development will need meet the following key requirement for the position
*Engineering degree or ONC/HNC in an electrical design related field
*Ideally previously been a signatory (CVE) or working towards becoming a CVE
*Sufficient engineering capability and experience to create innovative and effective engineered solutions
*Competent user of the incumbent CAD and data management systems
*A working knowledge of the principle of electrical installation and systems integration and design in an R&D environment.
*A working knowledge of the various methods of manufacture of electrical and mechanical components and assemblies.
*A history of embracing and utilising new technologies, materials and processes.
*Previous experience in creating specifications for components and assemblies
*Previous experience of generating patent applications.
*An understanding of aircraft architecture with a working knowledge of Boeing, Airbus requirements (D6-36440 etc)
*An understanding of the best practice for the integration of mechanical and electrical systems
*A good working knowledge of MS Word, Excel and Outlook
