Location: One position in Bedfordshire and one in South Wales

We are a leading company that specialise in design and manufacture of aircraft components. Due to continuous growth and a number of excited new projects in the pipeline, we have had a permanent position become available for a Stress Engineer.
As a Stress Engineer you will be required to assist in delivering major programmes and supporting on-going production for the Structures business ensuring they meet regulatory requirements.
Knowledge/Experience:
Previous experience in design organisation involved in aerospace design.
Familiar with current EASA and FAA regulations in particular CS-25.
Excellent reporting and communication skills
Familiarity with Nastran and FEMAP desirable
Experience in Test verification desirable
Effective oral and written communication skills
Good team working skills & work ethic
Educational Requirements:
The suitable applicant will be educated to degree in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering or have the equivalent experience to meet the requirements of this position.
Key Responsibilities:
The appointed Stress Engineer will ensure that company design is certified to EASA or FAA regulations and satisfies the contract specification.
Produce the necessary reports to demonstrate that the design satisfies all relevant EASA or FAA regulations
Detailed stress analysis of metal and composite structures
Static Unit Analysis verified by Test
Dynamic analysis of interiors structures
To undertake the checking and releasing of detail, sub-assembly, general assembly and installation drawings.
Preparation of schemes and provision of technical support for test programmes. To analyse test results and report findings.
To provide 'support to production' services including investigation to queries raised through Design Query Notes and Non-Conformity Reports, production permits and concessions and any other matter where production time scales are potentially adversely affected.
A certain level of communication will be maintained with Senior Stress Engineer, Design and Certification Engineers, Certification Director, Support departments that interface with certification; sales, marketing, operations, quality, aftermarket.
Technical Skills / Competencies:
Effective use of Microsoft Word and Excel
Awareness of the certification framework within which the work is undertaken
