An excellent opportunity exists for a Certification Manager to join a rapidly growing business and leading business in the aerospace sector. The appointed Certification Manager will be responsible for the management of certification activities for the Technical Office, leading and planning resource and facilities. This encompasses certification in the fields of structural, fluid and mechanical systems, incorporating compliance from both analytical and test methods.
The appointed Certification Engineer will carry out responsibilities;
*Manage delegation of certification preparation and checking through capability and competence processes, and ensuring all the necessary skills are developed to support the strategy of the business.
*Certification Document approval in areas of key competencies.
*Key contributor for the generation of Material and Manufacturing processes
*Ensure that certification work scope is in line with programme contract
*Promote a lean culture within the department focusing on all its customers, right first time, problem solving and efficient delivery
*Support the Development of the certification toolset to support certification progress against scope and budget.
*Ensure certification data supports the business objectives through the product life cycle.
*To manage certification support for business needs in Sales, Customer, Spares and Operations, primarily but not exclusively for aircraft.
*Acting as an authorised on-site certification representative, on behalf of Airbus DOA.
*Build and maintain effective relationships with customers, partners, suppliers and sister sites.
*Provide leadership in the development of employees to assure a solid skill base with capable functional and succession.
*Support the Certification Director in the maintenance and control of the DOA Office of Airworthiness.
*Function as a key contributor to the development and maintenance of the Business Centre of Excellence
*Attain/Develop Airworthiness CVE status with the business EASA DOA.
The selected Certification Manager will need to meet the following skills and experience required for the post;
*Proven experience of technical and operational experience in the Aerospace industry, involving both New Product development and team management.
*Previously held Airworthiness Signatory Status in several fields of engineering.
*Proven leadership abilities with strong technical, team and risk management skills.
*Good understanding of Airworthiness Regulations and intimate knowledge of certification for Large Aircraft.
*Working knowledge of current 3D design software, certification test methods and simulation packages
*People management skills in challenging working environments.
*Proficiency in preparation and execution of certification plans and feasibility studies within scope and budget restraints.
*Experienced in presenting and conducting technical meetings as part of the Design Review Process.
*Good communication skills.
*Good leadership, motivational and interpersonal skills.
*Innovative with 'Can-do' attitude.
*Absolute commitment to high ethics and integrity.
