Our client is a worldleader in the development of Set Top Boxes, Modems and other Gateway
equipment. For one of their projects they are looking for a Software Engineer Networking.

Job purpose
Software development in different layers of the networking stack, both Linux and proprietary stacks.

Responsibilities
Develop and debug Embedded SW modules that are part of the networking stack (OSI layer 3 and up).
Bugfixing/Maintenance in your area
Follow technology evolution
Creative, analytical approach and knows problem solving techniques

Skills/Qualifications
Education
Industrial Engineer or Masters degree in Electronics/ICT or equal by experience

Experience
3 years or more

Technical knowledge
-Embedded SW development (Kernel and user space)
-IP Networks, Routers, DSL gateways, Network security
-Packet switching
-OSI model
-Ethernet, TCP/IP, IPv6
-Networking protocols (DHCP, DNS, RAD, ND, PPP, IGMP, MLD,)
-Multimedia applications (Voice Over IP, video streaming,)
-Network tools like ping, iperf, tcpdump, ethereal
-C programming, Scripting (eg Perl)
-Debugging on target (JTAG, gdb)
-Linux Embedded development
-Linux Kernel knowledge
-SW version control (Clearcase)
