Director, Managed Hosting Development - strong technical background

Team Description & Purpose of Role
Managing a team of engineers based in EU and the UK responsible for the following core functions:
* Design & Development of Managed Hosting products required to maintain Our Client's position as a market leader in providing unified computing solution to the Enterprise Market
* Design & Development of Infrastructure Management Systems to monitor and manage all aspects of data centre operations
* To work closely with commercial product owner(s) to evolve the Unified Computing product set according to customer and market demands, and technology evolution and trends
* To work closely with in-life operational teams to release new capability in a standard and supportable way, including authorship of relevant technical and process documentation
* Working with and providing requirements to the Cloud/VDC online services group to ensure that it is possible to use VDC as a core platform component of Hybrid managed hosting solutions that include dedicated hardware components.
Job Responsibilties
* Provide technical leadership, vision, innovation and support to the engineering team
* Evolve new technology concepts into innovative solutions that will satisfy customer business requirements
* Drive evolution and adoption of modern automated management and reporting solutions
* Provide support to the Managed Hosting Solutions team to assess the impact of implementing extensions to the product portfolio and to interface to nonstandard solution elements
* Responsible for recruitment, development, motivation, and retention of assigned staff in line with Our Client HR policy
Experience Required
* At least 7 years in a Hosting Service Provider or IT service environment
* Excellent level of knowledge in all Hosting related technologies, including but not limited to :
o UNIX (Redhat, Solaris)
o Windows server OS
o Cisco Switching and routing
o LAN / WAN architecture
o Firewalls (Cisco and Checkpoint)
o Virtualization technology (VMware)
o Backup system (Veritas Netbackup)
o Hosting hardware, servers, SANs, blades
o Programming and scripting knowledge essential (perl, shell, vbscript, powershell)
o SQL Server, Oracle, MS Exchange, AD, replication technologies
* Preferred experience with one or more of the following:
o IP installation and commissioning
o Data Center / POP Facility Management
* Proficient in the use of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Access
* Budgetary control
* Good understanding of basic telecommunications: IP, SDH, Infrastructure, Hosting, Security, Voice, Video
* ITIL methodology, particularly Supplier Management
