Infrastructure Support Engineer

Location: Nottingham

As an Infrastructure Engineer within our fast paced and dynamic Nottingham site you will be responsible for delivering excellent technical support and first class customer service support with a high degree of customer satisfaction and timeliness. This role is highly customer focused, and the main drive at all times is to ensure that clients are being regularly contacted and that calls are being processed in a timely manner. To manage all requests made by customers making sure that requests are progressed to resolution within Capita or third party companies. To ensure all customers SLA times are met.

The core focus of the role is providing high level technical support, 2nd - 3rd line telephone and remote support, being attentive to detail, friendly and reliable with good organisational skills.

Essential skills and experience

* Significant 3rd Line Support

* Detailed knowledge of Microsoft Operating Systems including Windows 2000/2003 and 2008 (desirable) Commercial experience of Microsoft applications including Exchange, IIS, ISA, Proxy Server

* Knowledge of Thin Client technology desirable: Citrix Server, Gateway, Terminal Services.
Detailed working knowledge of standard Internet technologies such as SMTP, DNS (Bind), TCP/IP, NFS

* Detailed working knowledge of backup technologies and recovery processes

* A thorough understanding of storage technologies such as RAID

* A thorough understanding of routing and network topologies

* Experience in call logging, handling, requests of all types and fault's in an accurate and professional manner

Desirable skills and experience

* Ideally MCSE 2K 2003 or MCITP certified

* ITIL certified
