Software Engineer, Labview, Malton, North Yorkshire, 30,000 - 35,000

A North Yorkshire based business, set in a tranquil and scenic village are currently looking to recruit an experienced software engineer to the team, with the main skill set being National Instruments Labview. They are specialists in the Oil and Gas sector, which, in the current economic climate, allows as much stability and job security as you will find from any sector. The business supply control and monitoring systems to the Oil and Gas sector and are renowned for their exceptional product range, which is designed using complex electronics and software, whilst their small company feel, ensuring customer service and satisfaction is paramount.

The role is to be principally responsible for all aspect of PC based software products but also there must be an understanding and assistance with embedded software. The role will be to the design and development of software for in house use and distribution, with the usual need for verification and validation using software development processes and ensuring conformity to ISO9001:2008. You will be designing Graphical User Interfaces and implementation of software to meet specified requirements.

You will have good experience with National Instruments Labview versions 8 and onwards and other National Instruments hardware products. Labview is an essential requirement. The next skills are a nice to have, with Labview being the essential requirement, competence in Microsoft VC++ or VB, a good working knowledge of RS232, RS422, RS485, MODBUS and CAN while any experience of control and monitoring systems for safety critical systems would be advantageous.
