MPLS/WAN Technical Pre Sales Consultant for a major UK managed services provider, Cambridgeshire.
Up to 60k base plus 10% bonus and 4.8k car allowance
The primary role of the Technical Presales Consultant is to design the most appropriate technical solution for a specific customer requirement that we can support effectively. The Technical Presales Consultant function is an integral part of the sales process. Technical Presales Consultants will join Account Managers at customer meetings (onsite, offsite and by phone) with a view to leading discussions to understand the customer requirements and crafting technology solutions. A Technical Presales Consultant will be capable of designing solutions around all product sets with usually a specialism or leaning towards one of the solution sets (Hosting or Networking). Technical Skillsets * Comprehensive understanding of all ISP product sets including: - IPVPN networks, MPLS, IPSec, and Network Security - DSL, DIA, Ethernet - Co-location - Hosting - Virtualisation - Cloud Computing/Services - Voice over IP * Comprehensive understanding of all technical aspects of modern service provider IP networks and enterprise IP networks. * Design authority in all aspects of IP core and enterprise networks including but not limited to: TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, MPLS, QoS, VoIP, routers, switches, firewalls, load-balancers, DR scenarios and VPNs Duties & Responsibilities: * Identify and develop technical solutions from our portfolio in line with customer requirements. * Assure the technical feasibility, cost effectiveness, deployment strategy and operability of the proposed solution. * Provide progress reports to Sales and accurate reporting of opportunities being worked to management. * Technical validation of standard products deals. * Technical design and documentation of non-standard products/solutions. * Provide technical leadership to the Sales Teams. CRITICAL SUCCESS FACTORS Critical Personal Attributes: Demonstrate the Company's core values: Can-do, Positive, Excellence, Integrity, Accountable. * Flexible, able to work under pressure and to deadlines. * Well organised and professional with a real proactive attitude to winning new business and retaining existing customers. * Track record in a customer facing environment. * Excellent written, verbal and presentation communications skills. * Good commercial skills and ability to put together pricing for solutions and understand the margin analysis for the solution. PERSON PROFILE Education: A degree or similar qualification in a technical discipline. Training: Qualifications: Ideally have achieved CCNA or better in a previous role, or MCITP or RHCE equivalent. It is however accepted that these may be historical and not current.
