To oversee the operational management of drug and alcohol services delivered by Druglink. These include community based tier 2 services, supported housing projects, tier 4 residential Rehabilitation, Adult & School education programmes and a counselling service. Each service has a dedicated manager who will report to this post. The role involves supporting managers in the delivery of services, motivating them to develop their teams and achieve.

Main tasks
1. Promote the organisation and its services
2. Deliver services to specifications leading commissioning reviews
3. Provide a healthy, safe, secure and suitable environment for the delivery of services
4. Ensure performance data is collated and provided in report format within time lines
6. Supervise managers financial resources and spending ensuring they meet with budgets
7. Organise and chair managers team meetings
9. Identify gaps and weakness in services and support managers developing plans and implementing change
10. Compile and amend job descriptions in response to annual reviews service developments
Main responsibilities
Ensuring services are effectively delivering within contractual agreements.
Motivate and lead service managers to develop their service to the highest standard
Review policy and procedures ensuring services are operating within best practice, guidelines and organisational framework.
In conjunction with finance manager ensure services are operating within financial budgets.
To complete annual appraisal process with service managers.
Contribute to the annual business plan.
Develop and maintain excellent relationships with partners and stakeholders.
To contribute to bids and tenders as they arise.
Working Conditions
The post holder will be expected to regularly visit locations where services under their direction are delivered to meet with staff and monitor progress.
Desirable Qualifications
Drug and Alcohol Diploma
Social Work qualification
Counselling Diploma
Management Qualification
CPN or other relevant Health Qualification
Essential Experience
The post holder will have worker within the Drug and Alcohol field in a management or team leader role. A candidate with substantial experience and understanding of models of care, the treatment system will be considered.
Desirable Experience
The post holder will have managed a drug and alcohol team.
The post holder will have worked within a variety of treatment modalities.
Essential Specialist Skills
The post holder will have an understanding of the complex nature of substance misuse treatment, the treatment system and an understanding of an integrated approach.
The post holder will have an understanding of the needs of a staff team working in this field.
Desirable Specialist Skills
The post holder will have an understanding of the current Government Drug & Alcohol strategy. An understanding of how that impacts on the provision of Druglinks services.
Understanding of the process involved in managing services within the Voluntary sector and the unique challenges.
Essential Personal Qualities
The post holder will be comfortable with leading a staff team.
They will be committed to developing services and contributing to the development of Druglink as an organisation.
The post holder will understand the need for consistence and quality services, and the positive impact this will make to the client group served.
The post holder will have a deep and meaningful understanding of the need for equal opportunities and the advocacy of these issues.
