My client, a Market Leading Telecoms Company, is currently looking for a Transmission Design Engineer with a proven background in the Telecoms Industry to handle technical architecture within the transmission domain.

Within this role the successful candidate will be responsible for:

- All attentive activities to explore, acquire and keep on level of the specified technical knowledge
- Capture of design requirements at customer facing meetings
- Production of technical designs, documentation and planning guidelines for new equipment introduction
- To present professional knowledge in internal and external presentations, lectures and reports
- Maintaining relevant and up to date review of publications and literature in specific field of knowledge
- Contributing to and translating the network improvements and capacity increases into high level transmission designs
- Implementation preparation for designs onto the network


Successful candidates for this role should be able to demonstrate knowledge of the following:

- Relevant background/knowledge of design/planning/deployment of IP/Ethernet transport solutions
- Tellabs knowledge
- Background producing High level and low level designs
- Excellent knowledge of Ethernet switching, MPLS Networks, QOS
- IP Knowledge, Layer 2 switching, layer 3 routing
- Knowledge of Transmission (PDH, SDH, ATM & WDM) Protocols
- Background knowledge of Ethernet/IP/MPLS Technology
- Knowledge of telecom network infrastructure, mobile backhaul, microwave fibre etc...
