To drive financial awareness within the organisation, incorporating and embedding financial strategies into operational business objectives.

Tasks and responsibilities
-achieve progress towards the organisations longer term strategic objectives within areas of responsibility, ensuring enduring success
-drive the strategic agenda across the organisation, sharing insights into performance metrics and the financial implications of decisions made
-challenge the organisation to deliver a budget based on continuous improvement, identifying trends and supporting process improvements
-actively contribute to key business decisions by working in partnership with stakeholders, providing support, advice and ad hoc analysis as required
-interpret financial performance of the organisation, proactively identifying areas of both weakness and risk, providing sound advice, guidance and solutions to redress
-delivery of accurate and timely management accounts for areas of responsibility with variance analysis and commentary
-lead budget and forecast setting processes accordingly by managing the process and involvement in reviews along with challenge of existing ideas
-build and maintain successful relationships with managers across the organisation ensuring that decision making is based on sound financial advice
-train and support managers in understanding financial information and processes, demonstrating a tailored approach
-analyse and model complex organisational issues and scenarios
-support the development of cost benefit analysis and the preparation of project business cases within areas of responsibility
-act as an ambassador for finance proactively demonstrating good practice and customer service
-ensure the integrity of financial accounting in line with current standards and proactively seek improvements to internal finance processes
-act as point of contact in the absence of the Head of Business Planning and Performance

Candidate profile
-qualified accountant
-computer literate
-strong excel and access skills
-exceptional data analysis skills

Experience
-experience of working as a Finance Business Partner, providing high level tactical business insight in a strategic capacity
-experience of driving decision making and implementing change through challenging existing processes and consulting stakeholders of varying levels
-proven post qualification experience within a commercial organisation with sound financial practices
-experience of coaching and supporting finance and non-finance people through complex situations
-experience of using a variety of accounting packages, as well as the Microsoft Office Suite
