Technical Business Analyst

Within Sky Networks Services (SNS) the Information Systems (IS) department is responsible for broadband and telephony provisioning, service assurance and service delivery of the core ISP services. SNS IS works with other Sky Technology business units to develop the BSkyB technology strategy. It defines the detailed requirements for IT solutions and then delivers and supports those solutions.

We now have an excellent opportunity for a Technical Business Analyst to join the IS Infrastructure team. The prime purpose of this role is to manage the analysis effort across the Infrastructure delivery teams, namely Systems Design, Systems Administration (SA), Internet Service Platform Development (ISP Development), Data Warehouse Development, Database Administration (DBA) and Operations Support Systems (OSS).

As technical Analyst your responsibilities will include:
* Manage estimation of effort required to analyse a new project; Coordinate with programme and project management to ensure contribution to this feasibility stage.
* Manage the analysis and estimation efforts across the delivery teams once a new project has been granted approval for formal analysis; work with project management to provide a submission of costs for the project implementation stage.
* Write stories based on the high level architecture
* Sequence work into iterations across several technical domains
* Document technical requirements
* Assist project management to identify risks, issues and dependencies
* Look for and drive process improvements in the project development lifecycle. Regularly coordinate with IS and Networks teams
* Act as a champion for the IS Infrastructure teams. Build solid relationships with them and spend time getting to understand their work backlog and their issues.
* Build good relationships with the development team and be able to articulate the position of the Infrastructure teams.

The ideal candidate will have:
* Honours degree in an appropriate Technical discipline or previous relevant work experience.
* Demonstrable previous experience of IT Business Analysis in a highly technical environment.
* Previous experience with Telecommunications industry would be an advantage.
* Previous experience of capturing risks & issues and knowing how to escalate them.
* Experience in co-ordinating and engaging with multiple team across different disciplines.
* Strong communication skills with ability to instil confidence.
* Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with business users
