In-house Defendant Litigator/Paralegal, Gloucestershire - You will be expected to defend proceedings brought against Policyholders and have full conduct of the cases. The role involves control of a portfolio of 150 claims consisting of personal injury claims, multi track/fast track credit hire claims and other complex issues including the latest RSA disputes.

The role encompasses: Filing Defences, Discrediting credit hire claims, Promptly settling personal injury claims, Preparing statements and briefing counsel. The role holder will effectively manage his/her own portfolio of Defendant claims and be responsible for research and keeping up to date with the latest case law.

Responsibilities include: Defending Credit Hire and Personal Injury proceedings brought against Policyholders. Ensuring deadlines are met throughout the various stages of the claim Handling claims to the required quality standard and within the agreed timelines CPI's

Ideally you will be a newly qualified solicitor or legal executive with experience in a similar role. Very good working knowledge of the Pre Action Protocols, the Road Traffic Act, the Civil Procedure Rules, including Part 36 offers and the Compensation and Recovery Unit coupled with strong knowledge of PI/Credit Hire.
