Arkenford was founded by its three owner directors in 2002, it has three components to its operations; market research mostly using online methodologies, market modelling and analytics, and data products. A significant part of our turnover comes from repeat business and strategic contracts and we have worked with many of our major clients for many years. Therefore the quality of our research needs to stand the test of time. This creates a much greater need for accuracy than is required for more tactical research.
The company has grown to employ 16 professional staff with a turnover in excess of 1.5 million. However over the last few years growth has slowed. The company operates a relaxed atmosphere and has sought to develop our staff and give them responsibility and opportunities to develop their careers. There is a strong emphasis on self-management. However, it has not been able to grow a tier of middle management that is motivated to take on the director s responsibilities for client management, delivery or business development. It is our view that we need to change the culture to give clearer rewards for achievement and sharper focus on what is expected of all members of staff.
We are therefore making two senior appointments to the company. An Associate Director for video gaming to take a technical lead in this area and an Operations Manager.
The employment of an Operations Manager is designed to sharpen the operating culture of the company, to improve our business practices, and to release the directors to carry out more strategic work in winning new business for the company.
