Our client is seeking a Chemical Safety Advisor/Engineer for a contract role based at Sellafield. This role is working 37 hours per week Mon-Fri for a 12 month contract.

Objective
* Provide Lead Intelligent Customer capability for Chemical Safety.
* Define strategy, plan & execute roll out of arrangements across Site.
* Define, Policies, Management Standards & Site Procedure detailing the procedures to follow to achieve and demonstrate compliance with regulations at Site.
* Define lead assurance activities to further enhance/improve Chemical Safety standards.
* Implementing and communicating arrangements for complying with chemical safety legislation.
* To assist in the development and maintenance of a single chemical inventory.
* Manage site-wide regulatory interfaces including direct discussions with HSE.
* Communicate with stakeholders, including senior manager, ensuring they receive timely warnings/advice of implications to the company.
* Manages Chemical Safety delivery programmes to agreed costs and operational safety requirements. * Prioritise, based on business risk, a programme of issues for review and improvement
* Define Strategy & create an integrated approach to Chemical Hazard Emergency Management across Sellafield that meets with legislative requirements, including delivery and stakeholder engagement.
* Provide outward face of Site and benchmark arrangements already in place at other Nuclear Facilities & Industries that demonstrate best practice, and share best practices with other NSLC's.
* Source evaluation of training provision to suitable technical; specification to Site.

Deliverables
To be the Subject Matter Expert (Lead Intelligent Customer) for all aspects of Chemical Safety on site.

Key Skills
* Chemical or Chemical Engineering qualification HNC desirable.
* Experience of managing and engaging with multi discipline technical teams.
* Knowledge of the Safety Case process and S&RM Chemotoxic assessments
* Strategic thinker.
* Drive, enthusiasm and self motivation in the delivery of improvements.
* Good communication and influencing skills.
* Customer focussed.
* Ability to manage external stakeholders (eg NII & HID).
* Ability to prioritise and plan work.
* Experience of working in chemical industries.
* Experience of working in industries that have Hazardous Classified Areas, related to control arrangements for equipment selection & ignition source controls.
* Knowledge of chemical safety legislation.

Pay Rate Details
29.00 per hour LTD
