Head of Business Intelligence (BI) and Actuarial Systems - Insurance | Reading | £80k - £95k + 20% Bonus/Benefits)

One of the world's biggest Insurers is currently seeking a Head of Business Intelligence and Actuarial systems. The role will act as IT Director for the BI and Actuarial arm of the insurance firm and be responsible for a team of over 60 technical and business focused personnel. You will be fully responsible for the delivery of projects and services within the business unit and report directly to the UK and Europe IT Director.

As Head of BI and Actuarial you will lead a team of industry and technical specialists ensuring that systems are development to set guidelines and service levels and projects are delivered effectively. You will build a team of industry experts to keep abreast of new technologies and trends, while also designing and implementing strategy for the business unit. You will manage the software delivery lifecycle of all applications and be a close point of contact for all senior managers within the BU. It is also essential that you work closely with all technology and business stakeholder to report and manage expectations within BI and Actuarial. You will have full budget responsibility and be heavily focused around delivering value for money across all solutions and projects while also continuing to provide top quality BI and Actuarial systems and new solutions. Finally you will be responsible for working with external 3rd party SI's and consultancies to deliver effective, and cost efficient solutions.

In order to be considered for the role of Head of BA and Actuarial Systems you will have the following skills and experience:

-Strong Prior IT Departmental and Management Experience within BI and/or Actuarial
-IT Programme Management Experience
-Strategy Setting Experience
-Management of Large departmental budgets (up to and above £10m)
-Ability to lead large scale change/transformation programmes within the FS sector, as well as leading teams through change cycles.
-Very strong stakeholder management skills
-Strong customer/relationship management experience
-Resource and people management experience
-Ability to operate, influence and negotiate at Director and CxO level.
-Experience of presenting, writing and communicating at senior management level
-Risk and issue management experience
-Strong knowledge of the FS and/or insurance sector
-Ideally a degree education
