Head of Media & Digital Communications
£37,500 per annum
In this exciting new role you will develop and lead our new Creative Media Production Learning Company. This is an exciting opportunity to provide commercial learning opportunities in TV and Radio for students on Creative Media Production courses working in collaboration with our Corporate Marketing and Promotions team. You will ensure that the Creative Media Production curriculum provides an outstanding learning experience, develops students' industry specific technical and wider skills, incorporates entrepreneurship and innovation and results in student success. Reporting to our Head of Business, Computing and Creative Technologies, you will play a key role in achieving the College's 2020 Vision for a world class learning enterprise transcending borders. The College is looking for an outstanding leader and teacher with a commercial media production background, ideally in TV/Video to take forward our Vision.

Description of duties
Main duties and responsibilities:
* As a As a member of the College management team, to lead and direct the Media and Digital Communications curriculum and programmes, and create an appropriate identity which promotes excellence in line with the College's strategic priorities and objectives.
* To support the Head of Department of Computing, Business and Creative Technologies in implementing the vision for the Media and Digital Communications curriculum and to be responsible for the day to day management of the programme(s) of activity ensuring a high quality, relevant curriculum is delivered effectively and efficiently within the College's financial and other parameters.
* To lead and manage the staffing, accommodation and equipment resources allocated to the Media and Digital Communications programmes and to promote high staff motivation and morale.
* To be responsible for managing the student experience on Media and Digital Communications programmes and ensuring student success.
* To create and lead the Media and Digital Communications Learning Company to enhance the student experience.
* To have oversight of Corporate Marketing and Promotions, and line manage the Marketing Manager.

Essential criteria:
* A degree level or professional qualification in TV/Film and/or Digital Communications
* A Certificate in Education or equivalent teaching qualification
* Demonstrable experience in the TV/Film and/or Digital Communications industries
* Demonstrable experience of leading a production team
* Able to manage a diverse to challenging and sometimes conflicting deadlines
* Demonstrable evidence of effective team working within a demanding and busy environment
* Demonstrable evidence of problem-solving, analytical and diagnostic skills, as well as business awareness
* Demonstrable achievement of high success and progression rates for students
* Able to work well in teams but also to work independently with the minimum of supervision
* Able to meet targets within set timescales with drive and passion
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Motivated and able to motivate others
* Excellent administrative and organisational skills
* Understanding of safeguarding in the context of education

Desirable Criteria:
* A postgraduate or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline.
* Demonstrable teaching experience at Level 4 and above
