If you are a shining star working as a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer our innovative automotive industry leading client is seeking an exceptional Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to develop its technology platforms for test cell and vehicle demonstration programmes. The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will be familiar with materials properties, low-volume manufacturing processes in steels and aluminum, and rotating machine design (including bearings, and seals). An understanding of combustion engine/technologies would be valuable.

The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will be comfortable evaluating and documenting designs, displaying high standards in engineering analysis, written language, and the creation of drawings. This role provides a sense of satisfaction and achievement as very few industries/companies offer a cutting edge environment, and autonomy to set you own work schedule.

The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will be able to use CAD software. (Solidworks preferred, though comparable prorammes will be considered). The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will be comfortable selecting bearings and seals, and designing lubrication systems and other complex geometries for rotating machinery. This role provides you with the landscape to be a forward thinker, and to be innovative.

The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will be required to set up test rigs and verify designs in service. The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will have knowledge of low-volume manufacturing processes are essential, and good supply chain contacts are a positive feature. The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will have a knowledge of materials and treatments is an asset. The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will have experience with engines, turbochargers, electric machine design, where seeking a solution is at the forefront of every action.

The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will have a broad appreciation of mechanical systems, be ambitious (Which will be rewarded) and technically incisive. The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer must be well organised and demonstrate a conscientious, results driven attitude to work. The salary range is 30-37k depending on experience. A company share options scheme may be available based on exceptional performance.
