Ludlow Street Healthcare is an innovative, rapidly-expanding organisation that provides specialist care, education and treatment services for individuals with learning disabilities, mental health needs and other specialist care needs.
This is an outstanding opportunity to join the exciting and inspirational Ludlow Orbis Education, and play a crucial role in the continued success and development of Tŷ Coryton.
Working as senior member of the Education Team you will play an active role in supporting the planning and development of programs that addresses the individual needs of our children and young people. With support and guidance from the Head of Education and Principal of Ludlow Orbis Education, the successful candidate will work across all areas of our curriculum, paying close attention to developing meaningful accredited and non-accredited learning schemes for all who attend our service.
Tŷ Coryton is a two part service that operates with one vision; to enrich the lives of others and nurture a brighter future. Registered as an independent school and children's home, Tŷ Coryton is located within a small village, on the outskirts of Cardiff and is designed to provide specialist education and residential services for up to 30 children and young people between the ages of 8 -19 years who have a diagnosis of an Autistic Spectrum Condition or associated difficulties relating to the triad of impairments.
Tŷ Coryton prides itself on offering meaningful packages of education to those who have in the past struggled to access conventional mainstream services; offering each child and young person an individually tailored and holistic programme of support, equipping them to face the challenges of life.
The school has undergone a number of successful Annual Monitoring Visits by Estyn, with the most recent being in January 2012. As a service, Tŷ Coryton continues to build upon prior success and aspires to become a 'Centre of Excellence' for children and young people with complex needs.
We are seeking to recruit a candidate with a proven track record in the delivery of specialist education to those with autism and Asperger's syndrome. This is a unique opportunity to work collaboratively with colleagues from across our other educational facilities, Tŷ Orbis in Brecon and Beechwood College in the Vale of Glamorgan; and to join an expanding, successful educational organisation.
The successful candidate will support the school's Head of Education to ensure that the education team work collaboratively with the head of our residential services (Registered Manager) to promote a challenging and forward thinking waking hour partnership. You will have a genuine passion for teaching and learning, and for creating successful opportunities for those with additional learning needs. You will have a proven track record of working in a special school setting and possess sound knowledge of relevant curriculum development.
We are looking for a Senior Teacher who is passionate about improving the lives of others and an excellent communicator.
