Our client is seeking an experienced IT Technical Projects Analyst to provide high level technical expertise and ensure high level project delivery.

Reporting to the IT Manager your duties will be challenging and varied to include:

* Producing technical, business and economic feasibility studies for new project ideas, including involvement in the implementation of new solutions and their development
* Planning project progress by defining goals, milestones and tasks, time and resource planning
* Planning and managing any project personnel, internal and external, responsible for implementation of the project tasks
* Monitoring project progress and success, assessing risks and hazards to the success of the project and taking appropriate measures for avoidance.
* Delivery of projects with a view to maintaining minimal risk to business operation, documenting project progress.
* Analysing and processing the project experiences i.e. best/worst practice
* Presenting and documenting interim results, cooperating with management to carry out reviews
* Handing over project results and drawing up final project reports, with responsibility for project go-live delivery
* Ensuring the correct operation of all IT servers in accordance with appropriate documentation
* Ensuring correct delivery of report writing development across a variety of modules / databases, especially ERP, including delivery of web based stats to desired timescales
* Ensuring all IT policy is adhered to (including email, web, security, access levels etc) and ensure any issues are reported to the IT Manager
* Quick response to all IT queries from the user base, software and hardware related
* Assisting in ensuring correct upkeep of the two comms rooms and other areas where IT equipment is presentin accordance with our insurance policy (e.g. air conditioning, cable management etc)
* Reviewing and monitoring versions of hardware and software to ensure the company is up to date with supported / latest versions
* Being aware of the security of systems on the network with regards to access level implications
* Assistance in providing knowledge to users and arrange / take training where necessary
* Ensuring that installation of new PC/printers onto the network is carried out correctly and that the correct configuration is used
* Ensuring that the phone system operates effectively and configuration changes take place as necessary and that any issues with phone or fax lines are dealt with correctly
* Providing second line support assistance to the IT support analysts

To be considered you MUST be able to demonstrate:
* Displaying a very high level of technical understanding and competency, across a wide range of technical areas
* High levels of problem analysis and solution
* Effective communication skills and presentation of project data
* Project planning and organisation skills
* Ability to write concise and accurate documentation to a high standard
* Ability to show initiative in dealing with problems on own, with aptitude for working under pressure
* Excellent time management skills with ability to prioritise jobs and multi-task
* A level of commercial awareness in order to prioritise projects and workload
* Understanding of business procedures and pick up new ones quickly
* A flair for innovation and creativity in providing opportunities for business development, improvement and sourcing new technologies


Experience of the majority of the following systems / technologies is essential:-
* Solid understanding of SQL Server 2005/2008 administration
* Excellent knowledge of T-SQL, with particular reference to data extraction, manipulation and transfer using stored procedures
* Administration of Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, RRAS, Windows XP/7 and Office Suite
* ERP / warehouse management systems, especially Sage L500
* Microsoft Exchange 2003 and above
* VMware vSphere 4 and above, Veeam and associated practices
* TCP/IP networks, networked routers, firewalls (esp. Cisco), LAN/WAN, VLAN
* Web / Intranet design, ASP.Net, C#.Net and web technologies in general
* Version One, Sales Logix, Cognos, Orbis, Crystal
* All Windows server and Windows client operating systems
* Data security and backup, disaster recovery and replication
* Understanding of database structures and general database maintenance
* Experience of MI reporting
* Demonstrable troubleshooting skills gained in high level technical support roles
* Understanding of hardware specs and limitations

Permanent role

Hours: Monday - Friday, 9am - 5:30pm. Flexibility will be required on occasions to meet business needs.

Salary: £28,000 - £30,000 per annum

Location: Flint
