A private bank in Johannesburg, South Africa are currently seeking a Head of Testing.

Duties, responsibilities and Accountabilities of the role will include;

Client Delivery (70%)

* Deliver appropriate value in terms of strategy, quality, cost, time, scope, knowledge, and tools.

* Establish and maintain a testing strategy for PB SP aligned with the Private Bank business strategy, PB SP strategy, regulatory pressures, any Legacy and new architecture requirements,.

* Utilise agreed testing best practice and IT governance standards to contribute to the delivery of quality projects through building a strong testing competency within PB SP with clear testing quality principles.

* Improve speed of delivery through evaluating, implementing and maintaining a testing tool set within PB SP to support automation, load, stress, and performance test requirements in line with testing strategy.

* Build successful vendor relationships to facilitate successful delivery of testing to projects in line with testing strategy.

* Establish and maintain a testing forum responsible for reviewing quality of test deliverables for all PB SP projects.

* Manage stakeholder expectations and priorities effectively.

* Understand your stakeholders and their expectations and manage these expectations through clear and regular communication.

* Formalise communication according to stakeholder needs.

* Ensure signoff on all test deliverables according to agreed testing quality principles.

* Facilitate ongoing liaison with other teams, service providers and software vendors in order to maximise delivery success.

* Ensure successful delivery and manage stakeholder expectations through continuous risk management.

* Perform regular risk assessments highlighting risks exceeding risk tolerance to PB SP management forum.

Expertise (10%)

* Continually build and enhance relevant knowledge of the Private Bank business with a view to achieving thought leadership demonstrated through value in testing competency.

* Demonstrate through attending all knowledge transfer sessions offered within the PB SP team

* Demonstrate though asking questions and building relationships with key knowledge stakeholders

* Take ownership of developing the testing competency within Private Bank SP in collaboration with PB SP leadership and the testing competency.

* Propose and obtain buy-in for an effective method to increase the proficiency of testing within the broader PB SP team

* Facilitate the rollout of such a proposal

* Assist PB SP teams in building valuable and maintainable test assets for the applications they support

* Initiate and collaborate on initiatives within the PB SP team aimed at improving internal effectiveness and knowledge management as it pertains to the testing competency

People (10%)

* Subscribe to and promote culture and values in all teams you work in or with.

* Contribute to people development through seeking proactive training, coaching and skills transfer opportunities for testing competency.

Business Development (10%)

* Develop a good knowledge of the Private Bank business strategies for the areas where the testing competency add value

* Ensure that project quality is delivered meeting key performance indicators established as part of the testing strategy

* Maximise business benefit through contributing to the delivery of successful projects in terms of predictable quality and optimal time

* Implement a process of continual improvement of testing quality and efficiency across PBIT taking into account quality standards applicable to PBIT
