We have an exciting opportunity for a Development Engineer to work for an industry leading business in Modular Building (Off-site Construction / Manufacturing). This role is responsible for developing new products and developing and improving existing Company products in line with cost targets, lean manufacturing techniques and compliance with regulations and design brief. This role will also support the specifying team to work on bespoke projects and the manufacturing and contract department to enable successful completion of projects.
Duties include utilising Autodesk Inventor to create 3D models and prepare manufacturing drawings, overseeing production of prototypes and provide technical back up as required, analysing the effectiveness of design, and to deliver product training to key employees. This role also requires visits to Company sites and manufacturing bases as and when required.
The ideal candidate will have an previous experience of New product design, preferably within offsite manufacturing. Excellent knowledge of Autodesk Inventor and AutoCad is required with experience of Revit being an advantage. Candidates should have a good working knowledge of Lean manufacturing, Building Regulations and other associated documents (Building Bulletins, HTM etc.) and knowledge of CDM, Building Regulations and HSE Regulations.
