Our large direct client is seeking a System Administrator for a 6 month contact position. Their IT Infrastructure Application Integration Team has an opening for an individual to provide systems support for web applications and SOA environments running IBM WebSphere products. The candidate will work as part of an IT team to coordinate the release of software upgrades, install and configure application Middleware and provide technical support for troubleshooting problems. The position's roles and responsibilities: Provide design and operations support for server environments Work as part of an IT team to coordinate the release of software upgrades On-call support for system problems and changes Install and configure application Middleware. Provide technical support for troubleshooting problems Participate in hardware and software upgrades affecting supported environments Plan and implement changes to improve service and/or the environment Maintain system availability, reliability and performance Respond to customer inquiries regarding technical support in assigned areas Work with Application Areas to implement new applications into the environments
