Our client is a globally known multinational e-commerce company with headquarters in the US. It is the world's largest online retailer in addition to being a producer of consumer electronics, cloud computing services and digital services.
Our client is looking for a talented lawyer to support their rapidly growing and evolving digital business. The position, based in Berkshire, will serve as the primary lawyer responsible for counselling the business on a broad range of commercial, licensing, technology, and regulatory matters and structuring, drafting and negotiating commercial transactions. The successful candidate will work directly with the business, serving as lead counsel on strategic deals, providing day-to-day advice, resolving issues that arise in existing commercial relationships and handling pre-litigation legal disputes and inquiries.
Principal duties include:
* Structuring, drafting and negotiating complicated licensing, technology, distribution, marketing and other commercial agreements.
* Providing ongoing legal counselling in a wide range of legal areas, including intellectual property, digital media and regulatory compliance. Some travel, domestic and international, will be required
Our client is looking for an exceptional candidate that can demonstrate the following:
* Several years of professionally qualified legal experience, gained ideally in a major international law firm and the In House team of a major corporate.
* Outstanding academic qualifications, having attended a leading university and law school and obtained at least a 2:1 honours degree (or equivalent)
* Specific experience in technology and commercial transactions, in particular digital media, content licensing and other IT related commercial transaction.
* An ability to work independently while being able to contribute successfully to cross-functional teams
* An ability to negotiate in German, French, Spanish or Italian is a plus
Where specific UK qualifications are required we will take into account overseas equivalents.
