Our client is a national specialist offender learning provider with a wealth of experience in this sector. The role of our Offender Learning Directorate is to develop learning and skills provision, working locally with other partners, that meets the needs of offenders in custody and contributes to the aim of reducing reoffending.
They currently have an opportunity available for a Part Time Trainer in Business Administration at HMP Wakefield.

Within these roles you will be required to develop lesson plans based around best practice and quality targets, actively contributing to development and ensuring the safeguarding of learners. Emphasis is placed trainers working in partnership with prison and probation colleagues to create a cohesive learning journey that improves employability and contributes to the reduction of re-offending.

To succeed within these roles, candidates will need to have a pragmatic and non judgmental approach to their work and the flexibility to adapt to meet learner requirements when necessary.

To qualify for salary band 1, we ask a minimum of 2 years' experience in the relevant vocational area and be willing to gain PTLLS within 6 months coupled with the commitment to gain a subject specific level 3 qualification within 2 years. You will also be required to gain an Assessor Award by relevant awarding bodies within one year alongside Cert Ed or DTLLS within 3 years. Hold at least level 1 qualification in Literacy & Numeracy or be willing to commit to gaining the qualification(s) within one year.

To qualify for salary band 2, you will hold vocational area qualification level 3 coupled with a PTLLS qualification. An Assessor Award is required by Awarding Bodies (if relevant) alongside a level 1 qualification in Literacy & Numeracy with the commitment to gain full QTLS within 2 years. You will hold or commit to gain an Internal Verifier award, level 1 qualification in Literacy & Numeracy and a minimum of level 2 qualifications in Literacy & Numeracy within 1 year.
