PLC Engineer - Reading
Our client is looking for a PLC/Software/ Electrical/ Electronic Engineer to join an established engineering company who offer internal progression and training. This is an exciting opportunity to programme, construct and test PLC based control systems including HMI.
Based in Southern England with a satellite facility in Aberdeen, they are a manufacturer and supplier of process Instrumentation and Analytical Systems to the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Chemical and Processing Industries including major laboratories and Utilities.
The Position:
Development and maintenance of PLC software..
Ability to follow design quality procedures in an auditable manner.
Generation of specifications at all levels
Programming in high level languages
Interfacing of control systems
Liaison at all levels with customers and other project partners.
Testing and commissioning at the customers' site and sub-contractors
Engineering Team leadership
Cost control and reporting
Project Engineering of smaller to moderate size projects
Contribute to the generation of the overall and detailed project programme, including considerations for phased implementation and handover.
Desirable requirements:
Be qualified to at least HNC level in an appropriate subject and with a minimum of three years relevant experience.
Have a good knowledge and understanding of PLC software (knowledge of Beckworth products would be beneficial).
Be capable of demonstrating a structured approach to justifying key engineering decisions.
Be able to work under own initiative, be well motivated and enthusiastic, with the ability to communicate with other engineering disciplines within the design/project team and the client.
Be capable of working to challenging programme and budgetary constraints.
Must be prepared to work offshore and overseas as required.
While the salary range is envisaged to be in the 25 to 35k range, this could be considerably higher for the right person. An extremely generous bonus scheme is also available.
