Quality Engineer - 25-33k - County Durham
The Job Opportunity
This is an excellent job opportunity for an experienced Quality Engineer to work in an exciting and challenging role, for a global engineering company, within the County Durham area.
Main Duties
* Use and setting of CMM.
* Use of standard measuring equipment: verniers, micrometres, plug gauges etc.
* Interpreting drawings.
* Conduct goods in, first offs, patrol and final inspections to specification.
* Exposure to continuous improvement techniques (preferably Six Sigma or lean training, 8D, TQM).
* PPAP and APQP (Potential to deputise for JB is desirable)
* Ability to communicate Q issues with suppliers (preferably with previous experience of adding value downstream/ costdowns etc.).
* Communicate effectively with suppliers, internally at all levels and customers.
Qualifications and Experience Required:
* Previous QA experience in ISO 9000 manufacturing, (3 years minimum) preferably in the automotive sector and exposure to TS/QS.
* Minimum paper based filing records (Mainframes, databases, due diligence record keeping, Powerway are desirable).
* Strong numeracy skills.
* Good standard of English (Desirable for a professional business writing style).
* Can follow Standard OPS (Ability to draft standard ops and initiate systems are preferable).
* Basic PC skills (Computer literacy especially word excel, e-mail Advanced skills to enhance and develop Q documents eg Visio are advantageous).
* MUST be able to adapt to restricted information systems.
* Understands potential of role to reduce costs (ideally can demonstrate cost down/efficiency activities)
* ONC in mechanical engineering (HNC is desirable)
