FIRST STEPS NURSERY
Due to expansion we require the following experienced staff.

Nursery Practitioner
Hours: Approximately 35 per week.
Job share considered provided 2 candidates are appointable.
Responsible to Nursery Manager and 2 Assistant Managers.

This is not a complete statement of duties and responsibilities and may be amended in the light of the changing needs of the nursery, after consultation with the post holder.

Main purpose of the job


To provide children with a high standard of care in a safe and stimulating environment in which children can develop to their full potential.

Main duties


To provide a high standard of care for children from the ages of 0 to 4 years.

To plan, deliver, observe and evaluate play activities within the EYFS frameworks.

To share responsibility of the safety of the building and equipment reporting any defects to the appropriate person.

To keep records as required.

To be aware of and carry out duties with full regard to the nurseries Policies and Procedures.

Work as a member of a team.

Communicate effectively with children, parents, colleagues and other users of the nursery.

Work Monday to Friday on ashift pattern between the hours of 7.30 am - 6.00 pm.

Attend training courses to further develop existing childcare skills and personal development.

Attend monthly out of hours team meetings.

Play an active role in identifying, initiating and delivering ongoing strategies to continue to develop good nursery practice.
