Infrastructure Design Architect - 6 month+ contract - Thames Valley

Infrastructure Technical Design Architect - ongoing contract opportunity - working for a global communications company in the Thames Valley.

As Infrastructure Technical Design Architect you will have an excellent understanding of the IT market and in particular storage, server virtualisation and database technologies.
You will be required to provide technical design assurance and guidance to technical teams and non-technical managers. An experience of virtualisation technologies such as VMWare and Hyper-V and technologies such as Citrix and Active will be required.

Infrastructure Technical Design Architect, your responsibilities will include:
- Ensure infrastructure requirements are incorporated in the development process and ensure early notification of future requirements
- Conduct high level business requirements, gathering and analysis for the purpose of solution design/architecture and building highly scalable and robust IT infrastructure architecture
- Evaluate new technologies and recommend technical products
- Create high quality documentation

Requirements:
- Skilled in databases, SAN and NAS and server technologies
- Designing solutions
- Ability to lead a technical discussion
- Proven track record of designing infrastructure
- Skilled in designing and running virtualised environments
- Strong database design and tuning

Technology Requirements:
- VMWare & Hyper-V
- Citrix & Active
- Oracle, SQL Server, HP EVA, HP Oracle Blades, Cisco SAN
- Desirable certifications - CCIA, CCEA, CCA, MCSE, MCSA, and VMWare VCP
