The role
We have an exciting opportunity for an ambitious developer to join our Application Server Team. Developing Java application components and ensuring they integrate effectively with other architectural layers, you will work with a variety of Java Technologies, Application Servers and databases. Specifically we are looking for candidates with proven skills in Java coupled with knowledge of UML. Working in an agile development framework, you will be expected to work with multi-functional teams contributing to the successful development of our products.

Essential skills and experience
-Java Development experience in a commercial environment.
-Relational database experience ideally Oracle or DB2.
-Practical experience using tools such as Eclipse, Ant, J4Log and JUnit.
-Experience of working on full lifecycle developments within a software house.

Desirable skills and experience
-Knowledge of UML within a multi-tier architecture
-Knowledge of deployment and configuration of a leading Application Server such as IBM Websphere and / or BEA Weblogic
-Practical knowledge of Web Service protocols such as WSDL, XML, XSD, XSLT, XPATH and JAXB

Qualifications
-At least HND or equivalent, preferably degree in a relevant subject or equivalent professional experience
