Zone Substation Planning and Performance Electrical Engineer
Must be willing to work/relocate to the ACT.

The primary purpose of this role is to assess the condition, capacity, utilisation and performance of my clients zone substation assets; and to propose solutions for managing zone substation assets based on life cycle costing principles - this includes decisions to replace, repair, and upgrade assets so as to balance investment with asset performance over the life of the asset.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

* Use my clients Asset Management System to retrieve data for all zone substation assets

* Conduct condition and performance assessments for my clients zone substation assets

* Make recommendations to the Zone Substation Planning and Performance Manager on how to manage zone substation assets based on life cycle costing principles - this includes decision to replace, repair, and upgrade assets

* Apply technical knowledge and skills as a discipline engineer to develop the following:
o Condition monitoring reports
o System incident and defect reports
o Trend/root cause analysis of asset failures
o Maintenance program plans
o Zone substation improvement programs
o Asset Risk identification and risk management

* Using software tools, prepare and analyse data to satisfy my clients regulatory reporting requirements

* Support change initiatives as required to maintain or improve zone substation performance in line with Asset Strategies

* Provide first phase concept design for substations

* Assist with the development and implementation of standards relating to the zone substations

Other requirements

* Pro-actively liaise with the other clients Asset Strategy and Planning engineers and other parties both within and outside the Organisation, as required, to ensure that zone substation requirements and solutions are identified

* Act as a technical leader and mentor to the Planning and Performance Zone Substation Engineers within the Division

EY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS

* System Average Interruption Duration Index (SAIDI) - planned and unplanned, triggered by zone substation issues

* System Average Interruption Frequency Index (SAIFI) - planned and unplanned, triggered by zone substation issues

* Technical Regulatory Breaches (zone subs design-related)

* Delivery of Zones Substations Asset Management Plans

* Provision of zone substation performance data and reports

* Development of standards (relating to zone substations)

* Acceptance process complete (zone substations related)

* Delivery of first phase concept design for substations

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

* Tertiary qualifications in electrical engineering

* Post graduate qualifications in business administration or a commercial discipline preferred

* Demonstrated management experience in asset management within the electricity supply industry
