Mechanical Design Engineer

Our client is a long established Spacecraft design-engineering-manufacturing company with a global presence. They are
currently seeking an experienced mechanical engineer who is looking to develop a career path within the Spacecraft
engineering environment.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record within a full cycle engineering environment, able to demonstrate
delivery of engineering development and solutions and willing to develop new skills specific to spacecraft engineering.


Overview of main duties includes:
* Perform technical analysis to support space hardware projects.
* Support program technical reviews with customers.
* Provide technical engineering input and support to manufacture and test activities.
* Support business development team in preparing technical proposals for customers.
* Assist in the production and presentation of technical papers for industry conferences.
* Visit customer sites in support of project engineering and business development activities.


Essential Skills and Experience:
* It is essential that the candidate has a strong degree in a technical discipline such as aerospace, physics or
mechanical engineering.

* Previous experience within an ENGINEERING environment / or similar Project/Mechanical Engineering type role.

* Strong desire to work in the space industry is important

* The ability to quickly understand new technical concepts is essential

* Experience working with software packages for related to mechanical engineering analysis and design
.

* Good interpersonal skills
* Excellent written and verbal communication with presentation skills
* Self-motivated to meet objectives
* Ability to work both alone and in teams as required by the individual task
* Ability to work within defined timescales to meet programme milestones.


Salary Guidance: Basic + Package; Salary basic circa 30,000 for an experienced mechanical engineer.
A higher basic could be available for candidates with proven and demonstrable experience within actual
spacecraft/satellite mechanical engineering role.
