The focus of this role is to actively collaborate with academic colleagues in order to understand their needs, and to provide advice and assistance with the practical and innovative application of IT to enhance their research.
Experience of conducting research within HE in addition to proven experience and domain knowledge in at least one technical area relevant to research is therefore essential.
The successful candidate will have proven ability to develop and maintain working relationships, and will be able to demonstrate the ability to communicate orally, in writing and via the presentation of management and other data. They will exhibit initiative and resourcefulness combined with a can-do attitude in the solution of problems.
Research & Collaborative Services also provides technical services such as a virtual research environment. It is currently heavily involved in iridium, an externally funded cross-University project which is seeking to draft an institutional research data management policy and to support that policy by piloting a data management infrastructure.
