My client, a large marketing leading company based in Telford has put together a strategic plan to grow to a record turnover during the next year. To help achieve this, they are looking for the very best people. Position: General Ledger Financial Accountant. Day-to-day tasks: report to the Chief Accountant; assist in the investigation, analysis and reconciliation of the companys accounting margin, profit and loss accounts and balance sheet accounts; assist with the production of the monthly financial accounts, to include accrual and prepayment calculations, monthly balance sheet reconciliations and related analysis; assisting with the production of the annual statutory accounts for audit by both Internal and External Auditors; assisting the Chief Accountant with the preparation of corporation tax and capital gains tax computations; preparation of VAT and other statistical returns; preparation of quarterly and yearly reporting packs for review by our group parent company; cross support other team members to ensure overall achievement of deadlines; assist with ad hoc projects within the team as required. Desired qualifications/attributes: part-qualified Accountant ACCA, CIMA or ACA; experience in financial accounts; full understanding of both P&L and balance sheet accounting; proactive and adaptable attitude to work in a fast-paced Finance team; manage and prioritise a heavy workload to ensure all targets and deadlines achieved.
