To provide an effective and efficient accountancy service to Dealership Management Team, and ensure that financial controls are maintained in line with Company procedures.

* Ensure that balance sheet reconciliations are completed in line with Group procedures
* Provide commercial and financial guidance to the General & Line Managers on new initiatives or procedures..
* Examine, authorise and sign cheques.
* Control proper banking procedures in line with Company policy.
* Prepare monthly accounts, forecasts and trends to meet required deadlines
* Prepare WBR & WOC for management control to meet required deadlines
* Prepare annual budget to agreed deadlines and parameters.
* Liaise with internal and external auditors as required over audit and produce year end financial results.
* Ensure credit control procedures are applied and strictly adhered to.
* Ensure tight control of purchase ledger activates.
* Ensure salary and payroll information is submitted to Head Office in line with deadlines and stated procedures.
* Control Company's fixed assets including demonstrator vehicles.
* Prepare and submit VAT Returns.
* Prepare and maintain relevant schedules for year end tax returns.
* Oversee effective operation of Accounts Department.
* Recruit, coach and develop staff where appropriate.
* Submit returns to manufacturer a required.
* Ensure that Kerridge system is accurately maintained.
* Management Accounts accurately produced to group timescales.
* Debtors schedule at lowest possible levels

* At least 3 years financial experience, ideally within the retail automotive sector.
* Must have thorough knowledge and practical experience of accounting systems, processes and financial reporting.
* Current knowledge of matters relating to finance, taxation and trends within the industry
* Demonstrable experience in providing business management team with commercial guidance and advice
* Previous experience of managing a team in Accounts to achieve goals
* CIMA or ACCA qualification / PQ / qualified by relevant experience
* Able to prepare financial budgets.
* Able to work to tight deadlines at month/year end
* Ability to analyse and interpret financial data.
* Strong negotiating and influencing skills.
* Strong commercial awareness
* Kerridge knowledge preferred
