SCIENCE TECHNICIAN, BASED IN WIRRAL, 8.00 - 10.00 per hour

An experienced Science Technician is sought by this outstanding, high performing secondary school on the Wirral Peninsula, to provide long term absence cover within the Science Department.

Working as Science Technician you will have have responsibility for supporting teaching across the 3 main science subjects, with the emphasis on Chemistry and Physics. You will be required to set-up, oversee and clear away classroom practical, providing appropriate support to students during those lessons. You will also manage stock levels of chemicals and consumables, ordering where necessary, and also ensure that practical equipment is kept in an appropriate condition for use. You will demonstrate the ability to plan ahead for lessons, to ensure that the appropriate equipment is available and experiments and practical lessons set up at the right time. You will also demonstrate practical knowledge of the subjects and also good communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with both students and other staff members.
