Logistics Engineer
Wolverhampton, West Midlands
6 month contract+
£16 - £20 per hour (negotiable)
Principle Accountabilities
- Monitor & Reduce Days to Manufacture liaising with Team Leaders
- Provide logistics support to module teams as their single point of contact.
- Liaise and help develop module suppliers both internal and external.
- Involvement in creation of production schedules, along with relevant Team Leaders.
- Accountable for adherence to agreed schedules working closely with Team Leaders to ensure daily targets are met.
- Involvement and buy-in to medium term production forecasting, along with relevant Team Leaders & module management.
- Optimise the holding of stocks by controlling stock intake.
- Support NPI projects within the value stream
- Manage CINCOM and planning parameters to ensure parts are ordered and delivered on time.
- Produce and maintain schedules to achieve 100% OTIF to all customers.
- Maintain good customer relations, with both internal and external customers
- Manage Lean MRP on a daily basis in accordance with MoPs
- Track daily production to LWW
- Identify opportunities through the application of lean manufacturing techniques and principles
Basic Qualifications
- Strong understanding of MS Office especially Excel.
- A good understanding of manufacturing planning systems, preferably CINCOM, Aerovantix
- It would also be beneficial to have an understanding of SAP
- Good influencing skills and ability to cope well under pressure.
- Self motivated and proactive.
- Strong communicator in a manufacturing environment.
- An understanding of Manufacturing drawings and assembly and test processes would be beneficial.
- Experience in Lean Manufacturing techniques is beneficial.
- Flexible and can-do attitude, willingness to participate as a full team member
- Highly motivated with proven communication skills
- Responsive to change and comfortable working in continuous improvement environment
- Planning and organising skills with attention to detail, data input accuracy
