Quantity Surveyor York Contract
The Client.
The client is a multinational leader in delivering state of the art railway control and communication solutions.
The Role.
A Project Quantity Surveyor to manage the day to day commercial activities on a multi disciplined re-signalling project. Candidate must be able to work as part of the project team and ensure that the project is successfully completed within target time scales and budgets and to be responsible for the delivery/compliance of Company and Product specific Commercial systems and the Contract Specific procedures.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Post Contract Sub-contract management including:
Valuation of sub-contract applications for payment
Management of the sub contract change account
Working with the Commercial manager/Senior Commercial manager in the event of a sub-contract claim or dispute to ensure successful resolution.
Attendance of Commercial meetings
Establish an appropriate level of contractual commercial support commensurate with the project requirements to ensure all related aspects are managed to Project driven timescales, including:
Management of the Main Contract change account
Identification, valuation and agreement of changes with The Employer
Attendance of Commercial meetings
Input into both internal and external periodic reports including monthly Client progress reports and monthly Project Delivery Review reports
Ensure the commercial functions within the project meets both Customer and Company's expectations
Manage the commercial risk review systems
Maintain cost/value management systems
Ensure all processes and document control complies with the appropriate Company standards
Establish and maintain interfaces with key IRL departments e.g. finance, contractors etc and also with appropriate levels within Clients organisation
Contract Administration in accordance with the contract
Maintain complete/adequate commercial records during the contract
Knowledge/Skills/Qualifications Required:
Proven and demonstrable experience within a Project Quantity Surveying role
Proven interpersonal skills with confident and determined approach
Proven commercial management skills
Excellent negotiating and communication skills
Good IT skills
Degree qualified or equivalent
Qualified member if the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors or similar Professional Body
