Liverpool Based Building Contractor requires an articulate enthusiastic Quantity Surveyor situated in Aintree, Liverpool. The Successful applicants typical duties will be but not limited to:
o Manage & minimise costs from start to final figure.
o Understand & adhere to specified statutory building regulations.
o Prepare tender & contract documents
o Perform Risk, value Management and cost control paperwork
o Value completed work and arrange payments
o Analysing outcomes and writing detailed progress reports;
o Advising on procurement strategy;
o Attend Site meetings
o Accurately maintain data base
o Filing and general admin support to senior QS and Managers.
The successful applicant must:
Have at least 5 years recent experience as an QS working in the construction industry.
Be able to work from a bill of quantities or just a set of drawings to get the best price that will win a contract in a competitive bidding situation.
Obtain quotations from subcontractors and suppliers; negotiate best prices to ensure a winning strategy.
Ability to price works ranging from 2k to 5m
Possess excellent mathematical & accounting skills, be analytic, organised, confident, self motivated, be computer literate and be able to work individually or as part of a busy team.
Be able to work on a number of projects simultaneously.
Complies with and helps to enforce standard policies and procedures.
Be well presented and customer focused, a good command of the English language and good telephone manner is required.
The successful applicant must be prepared to work to strict deadlines, have the ability to prioritise their work in a professional manner and have an enthusiastic attitude towards their role in the Company.
Some travelling & site visits are involved.
