Associate Teacher: Motor Vehicle
Start Date: August 2012
Salary: 20.46 (unqualified) or 22.67 (qualified) per hour
City College, Southampton is looking for motivated and inspirational Associate Teachers to join our motor vehicle team. We have first-rate facilities in our new motor vehicle workshops including cars, vans, motorcycles, two lorries and a coach for our students to practice on giving students everything they need to become a mechanic.
You must have industry experienced and extensive knowledge in one of the following areas:
Light Vehicle Level 2 and Level 3 Auto Electrical Level 2 and Level 3 Heavy Vehicle Level 2 and Level 3
Ideally you will be a fully qualified teacher or working towards your qualification with a passion for teaching.
As well as teaching you will be acting as a Personal Tutor, you will teach and assess on agreed courses, maintain up to date records and take on an internal assessment role in-line with college policy. You will have an appropriate level qualification, evidence of ongoing professional development and for appointment as a qualified teacher you will also hold a teaching qualification.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and an appreciation of the uses of IT are essential, as is a commitment to excellence.

The hourly rate as advertised is a range within the band and your appointment will be based upon your skills, experience and qualifications. Hours of work for this role are flexible and not guaranteed. You are free to accept or decline offers of work and the Corporation is under no obligation to offer you engagements or re-engagement. The hourly rate includes an enhancement for annual leave and lesson preparation / marking.
