An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Networks division for a RAN Network Planner. Working on a variety of
projects across all aspects of the access network, transmission and strategy - we need your knowledge of RAN Networks and
Network processes, forecast planning and modelling combined with the ability to confidently articulate this to senior
technical and non-technical audiences.
The successful candidate will have a proven knowledge of the interworking of the RAN elements, whilst having an
understanding of Transmission technologies and methodologies. What is most crucial for this role however is the balance
of your systems experience and commercial awareness to lead the introduction of new products and services, and ensuring
the best service to our customers.
As a RAN Network Planner your main responsibilities will involve:
* Bringing ideas to market - influence and shape product design and lead impact assessments for new products and change
proposals.
* Directing the business and working with external partners to deliver the 1-3 year RAN Network Capacity Plan in line
with traffic forecast and demand metric updates.
* Developing a communication mechanism to educate the wider communities to the transformation of activities occurring
in the RAN network.
* Protecting the grade of service to our customers whilst delivering network transformation within the RAN domain.
* Developing RAN Planning functions to meet the needs of the products & services we design and maintain - operating,
developing and maintaining processes in line with business requirements.
As a RAN Network Planner your skills and qualifications will ideally include:
* Extensive knowledge of GSM, GPRS and UMTS.
* Proven experience of Network processes surrounding Network Planning and Modelling.
* Working knowledge of Packet Core Networks and IP/Data Networks.
* Preferable Degree qualified of a technical/science or mathematical discipline (or equivalent experience).
* Excellent communication skills - confident with drive, energy and enthusiasm.
* Strong Microsoft product experience; experience of data analysis and manipulation. Knowledge of Visual Basic, SQL or
similar tools would be an advantage.
