Capita are recruiting for an experienced Technical Support/Facilities Manager to work on a secure site in Aldershot on a contract until the end of March 2013. Due to the secure nature of the site and the urgent nature of this requirement, the successful candidate is required to hold current valid SC Clearance. This role will be managing a regional support team, working closely with stakeholders and support policy consolidation and assurance. This is a pressurised role in a very busy office that requires a manager who is willing to be flexible and hands on.
Main Duties/ Responsibilities
Lead Technical Support Team including line management duties & provide technical support and advice. Manage the provision of the externa technical support interface and coordination with stakeholders including Subject Matter Experts (e.g. Health and Safety, Fire, airfield pavements, security, masts and towers etc). Monitor and communicate trends and issues relating to technical matters across the region. Lead the review of policy and processes for appropriateness, making recommendations, developing plans and manage implementation as directed. Provide the regional focal point for all elevated technical issues and dispute resolution including the clarification of in and out of scope items. Provide the focal point for Lease related asset issues within the Estate. Lead on regional Sustainability issues. Coordinate and review of deferrals and exemptions within the Estate. Technical Support to Estates Management (EM) Personnel Coordinate regional EM technical development, mentoring, and training. Support Contract Management Team, providing advice on technical issues and supporting the Assurance programme, Performance Management Regime including Continuous Improvement and Performance Recovery System (PRS) Provide technical support to EM Planning Team. Coordinate technical auditing and compliance including providing the focal point with technical issues for 3rd party auditors.
Skills/ Experience Required
Record of practical experience in working in a demanding construction/maintenance delivery environment of which some should be at management level. A recognised technical relevant qualification at degree or equivalent level (working towards incorporated/chartered status of a recognised professional institution) and/or recognised incorporated membership (or greater) of a relevant chartered institution. Experience of: Provision of technical advice beyond own specialisation. Estates planning and asset management. Performance management and reporting techniques and systems. Provision of written evidence-based reports. Impact of Health and Safety, Sustainability and other legislation on the built estate. Working as part of a collaborative team.
