Our client is a leading developer of power generation systems within the renewable energy sector.

C&I Engineer Controls & Instrumentation, Electrical Engineering, Design, Procurement, Installation, Operation, HV, Power Generation Systems, Renewable Energy.

They are looking for a Control and Instrumentation Engineer (C&I Engineer) to provide engineering expertise for SCADA, PLC control and instrumentation systems on their renewable energy systems, working as part of a multi-discipline engineering team.

The C&I Engineer will support the Electrical Engineer with electrical engineering activities, including assistance with design, procurement, installation and operation of HV electrical power generation systems. You will be the first point of call for all Control and Instrumentation issues and will be responsible for creating C&I design specifications, tender appraisals, equipment and supplier selection etc. You will interface and manager contractors both on and off-site and will be responsible for the operation and specification of SCADA/Data collection and storage systems.

To be considered for this role, candidates will be qualified to degree or HNC level (or equivalent) as a minimum in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation or similar. You will have proven experience in the delivery of practical, cost-effective and safe engineering solutions, leading to the complete availability of C&I systems.

You will have proven experience of working with control and instrumentation systems and of instrumentation process engineering and/or electrical generation within the renewable, oil & gas or similar industry. You will have a strong understanding of electrical power engineering principles and equipment and the ability to demonstrate an innovative approach to investigating and introducing new C&I concepts.

You will have an understanding of installation design for harsh and remote environments (e.g. corrosion mitigation measures) and experience in project management, including controls, planning and estimating and preparation of deliverables / work package. You will also have experience in PLC or high level programming and experience in:
Instrumentation and measurement systems.
Instrumentation and multiplexers for harsh and remote environments.
Equipment and acceptance testing.
Data transmission media including fibre optics, coax and screened twisted pair
