Sales Office Controller/ Assistant Operations Manager
Job Specification
An excellent opportunity initially being responsible for an internal sales operation, but rapidly expanding the areas of responsibility to cover materials control and warehousing, ultimately taking full day-to-day control of these activities as Assistant Operations Manager.
Key Tasks
Responsible for a small sales office team. Reporting directly to the Operations Manager. Meeting defined targets for sales & profitability. Identifying & developing new business as well as managing & developing existing accounts.
Interpreting customer requirements & product selection. Preparation of quotations. Sales Order processing. Answering technical queries. Provide back up, support & guidance to the team. Commercial liaison/administration. Occasionally visiting customers.
Personal Specification
Must have supervisory/management experience with proven ability to control & motivate other staff.
Need to have previous experience in a Sales or Customer Services position & negotiation with customers.
Must be a hands-on self-starter (this is not a desk-bound role).
Would ideally have worked for an SME in an engineering or similar product related business.
Have sufficient technical knowledge to hold detailed technical discussions.
Would need to have a reasonable degree of computer literacy with a good working knowledge of Excel.
Must be a car driver as there will be occasional visits to clients required
