Our client is looking for an experienced Customer Account Manager to develop and manage a strong portfolio of key customers across the individual, public and private business sectors and achieve customer revenue targets through effective marketing, selling and relationship building.
The role.
* Filtering of customer enquiries and either dealing directly with them or passing them on to sales consultant colleagues.
* Development of business relationships with existing key customers and hunting for new relationships.
* Creation of appropriate product offering and subsequent customer sales proposals.
* Management of the customer experience for successful enquiries such that excellent customer service is provided.
* Day to day administration.
* Develop strong internal working relationships and communication with directors and colleagues.
* Work with local and regional businesses and government bodies to provide a product and service relationship such that an opportunity is identified for their employees for the companies needs as part of a strategic alliance.
* Design, propose, negotiate and agree terms of business with all key business customers and maintain relationships and terms as appropriate.
* Ensure all new sales enquiries are handled professionally and are 'filtered' to remain directly handled or passed to a sales consultant colleague.
* Adhere to company HR processes such as agreement of formal objectives, preparation for formal reviews and proactively working on any agreed personal development plan.
* Maintain an effective working relationship with other company employees to ensure there is efficient co-ordination of all company activities in support of strategic objectives.
* Assist in the adherence to all policies and procedures to ensurethat a safe and healthy working office environment is maintained at all times.
Personal Requirements/Experience
* Some experience of the travel industry preferred but not essential.
* Significant customer facing and sales experience in any business to business or consumer goods.
* Account management experience preferred where there has been previous accountability for revenue and profit across a customer portfolio.
* Excellent and immediately recognisable people skills, where relationships with others are built easily.
* Strong communication and influencing skills especially as concerns use of the telephone and the written word.
* A real demonstrable ability to get into the customer's shoes and think from the customer's perspective.
* To be organised and self-motivated to plan and deliver high quality work.
This role involves overseas travel and requires flexibility to undertake this type of work.
Candidates will be contracted to work a 5 day/40 hour week, but must be available and be able and willing to work Saturdays (the reality is that they work one in two Saturdays during a year as part of a staff rosta if required) and be available to work occasional Sundays in the busier periods (January to March) where industry/business demands dictate.
Suitable candidates should also be willing and able to travel overseas on business and/or for training opportunities.
You must also not have any convictions that may prevent travel to overseas and/or prevent them from driving both in the UK and abroad.
Candidate must have a full driving licence with no more than 6 points in accepted categories. Experience in travel and/or Tourism is preferred
