Capita Symonds Special Projects Division has a permanent vacancy for an Electrical Engineer looking to progress their career within a dynamic and developing division of Capita Symonds.
Special Projects employs personnel involved in a multitude of engineering consultancy disciplines such as Civil, Structural, Electrical, Geo-Environmental Engineering, Building Surveying, Project Management and CDM Co-ordination.
Based in Cheadle Hulme, Cheshire, the role is to join an established and growing team working alongside Building Surveyors, Civil, Structural Engineers and Project Managers for a number of projects commissioned by some of the most prestigious blue chip companies within the UK.
We are offering a wide range of client-focused Electrical Engineering work in a multi-disciplinary environment, with an opportunity for the right individual to progress within the organisation.
You must be dynamic and enthusiastic with good interpersonal and business development skills, with a broad experience in professional and project work ideally within one or all of the following sectors:
* Property
* Industrial
* Power
* Transport
* Commercial.
Role Requirements
The post duties will include the undertaking of electrical site surveys on a national basis, design and specification of sites in accordance with the contract scope, current IEE regulations and client standards. Ideally the candidate will also need to be competent in the use of standard office software applications and be familiar with AutoCAD.
Main Duties:
Reporting to the Senior Electrical Engineer you will be responsible for visiting LV infrastructure comprising buildings, transportation and control/switchgear infrastructure around the country to assess the current electrical condition, capacity and design to suit the clients requirements.
As an experienced Engineer, it is expected that you will be:
1. An experienced Electrical Engineer familiar with the preparation of professional engineering reports.
2. Highly experienced in the design of electrical infrastructure.
It would be highly advantageous if you can also demonstrate:
* Minimum ONC or equivalent level qualification in Electrical Engineering.
* Consultancy background
* Significant experience in a similar role
* Good team worker and client facing ability
* Driving licence
* Formal education and training in electrical engineering with demonstrable experience in the sector.
* Good interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate clearly with the client.
* Able to undertake LV electrical surveys and design calculations.
* Familiarity in the use of Amtech.
* Capable of working to a programme.
