Oracle Portal Architect - 6 month contract - Aerospace company - Derby

An opportunity is available for a Technical Architect (Information Architect/Portal Architect) to work within the IT
function of a large aerospace engineering organisation. The Information Management team's vision is to ensure that
information is shared with the right people, at the right time and in the right place. To support this vision our client
is now recruiting for a Technical Portal Architect to join the management team.

In the field of collaboration, Portals, professional networking and knowledge management, the successful candidate will
provide specialist expertise and practical assistance in the investigation, evaluation and interpretation of business
data challenges. Supporting the identification of new and alternative system approaches to performing business
activities, they will undertake & manage team elements of the software development cycle such as analysis, design,
coding, testing, implementation or improvement.

Core duties include;

1) Working as the information architect you will lead a design/delivery team to define and deliver global information
management projects based on strategic technologies

2) Liaise with Technology Office and business stake holders to identify capability needs and translate into technology
capability maps by leveraging strategic technologies

3) Lead delivery of global collaboration and portal solutions based on leading web 2.0 platforms

4) Works with vendors to ensure consistency of proposed architecture with implementation of solution. Ensures adherence
to enterprise standards, architectural principles and design documentation & review processes

5) Contribute to strategic direction for key information management domains, including Master Data Management, Metadata
management and Information Integration

6) Contribute to strategy planning and lead delivery of enterprise content management solutions for structured and
unstructured content using strategic technology platforms

Essential Skills/Experience

1. Proven experience with implementing global portal solutions, Enterprise content management platforms and Master Data
Management solutions

2. This role requires Oracle skills with;

- Oracle Web Centre Suite (11g) - Design, installation & Admin

- Oracle WebLogic portal (10g) - Design, installation & Admin

- Oracle Universal Content Management (10g & 11g) - Design, installation & Admin

- Oracle Identity & Access Management - Design, installation & Admin

3. Ability to define, design and develop information integration approach and architectures, and align multiple
deliverables in a multi-vendor scenario
