We are currently recruiting a Head of Digital/ eCommerce Director for the Education Division which is part of TUI Travel PLC's Specialist & Activity Sector.
With the aim of removing all paper brochures, you will be responsible for driving the Education EMEA businesses to an eCommerce focussed direct model.
The successful candidate will have responsibility for determining individual web marketing strategies and the overall Education EMEA eCommerce Strategy. Delivering key projects and ensuring that the relevant businesses become eCommerce centric. You will ensure that the varied customer bases and experiences are at the centre of all ongoing sales and marketing activity.
You will take responsibility for the delivery of Education EMEA global online performance and drive direct sales growth through effective eCommerce on all brand websites.
This role will require great communication skills and involve working with a number of different stakeholders in a complex business environment, including Sector Online Teams, business MDs, eCommerce personnel and managing agency relationships.
What You'll Be Doing
* In co-ordination with the Education EMEA MD, manage the development and delivery of eCommerce strategies for the Division.
* Provide expert assistance to the businesses on all aspects of eCommerce, including strategic planning, development, marketing strategies, agency selection, campaign management and analytics.
* Liaise with the Sector eCommerce Team to represent Education EMEA requirements and act as the principal point of contact for all eCommerce related activity.
* Ensure that requirements are clearly communicated in a timely manner. Work with the Development Team to ensure that sites are optimised for marketing on launch.
* Assist the businesses with devising eCommerce strategy and tactics to:
* Increase the volume of high quality, qualified prospect traffic to the websites through online marketing techniques.
* Maximise online conversion by optimising the customer path to online booking, or other commercial objectives as relevant.
* Develop initiatives to retain customer online interest and build communities as relevant to each brand.
* Ensure all marketing activity is tracked and reported effectively to enable ongoing campaign and website conversion optimisation.
* Increase customer acquisition and retention through email/eCRM techniques.
* Contribute to the development of specifications for new developments and functionality for brand websites.
* Ensure that appropriate commercial targets are set for all eCommerce activity, and post-implementation appraisal activity is conducted.
* Oversee the management of web content to ensure ongoing relevance and timeliness as well as compliance with relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
* Ensure appropriate analytic measurements are in place for all eCommerce activity and aid the businesses in conducting suitable measurement, analysis and reporting work.
* Provide monthly reporting to the Distribution Director on the status of all eCommerce activity for each business.
* Employ a customer-centric approach, ensuring clarity, simplicity and effectiveness of communication fall in line with brand personality and objectives.
* Manage all website developments, setting priorities, defining online solutions with the aim to maximise sales conversion and quality lead generation.
* Focus on strategic web development projects which will deliver new revenue streams, modernise the organisation and revolutionise the way that we do business.
* Recommend and implement changes to processes, organisation and systems that will make us a more accurate, efficient and profitable organisation eager to meet the challenges of an evolving marketplace.
What We're Looking For
* Ideally a Marketing, Online or Business related degree.
* Online Marketing experience of 5 years +, with a thorough understanding of online/direct marketing principles and techniques.
* Be commercially driven with a track record of delivering results online.
* Be an articulate self-starter with a can-do attitude and a desire to see things through.
* Have strong project management skills, to oversee complex projects, involving numerous stakeholders across the sector, in order to drive change necessary to meet marketing and growth targets.
* Be highly analytical with the ability to identify and evaluate marketing opportunities effectively.
* Able to work under pressure, meet deadlines and be flexible.
* Have strong interpersonal and relationship building skills to work across the Sector at different levels.
* It would be an advantage for the potential candidates to have:
* Experience in the travel industry, particularly in a specialist operator or have a digital agency background working with travel industry clients.
* A direct-marketing/interactive qualification eg IDM.
