We are working with a social enterprise who are looking for an Employment Consultant for a job based in Leeds. The main purpose of the job would be to actively promote the service and concept of supported employment to local employers to support disabled people in employment. The right person will have excellent job seeking skills and be able to match the job seekers appropriately to employers using appropriate techniques and methods to secure long-term employment opportunities. This role would suit someone with a good background in employer engagement and currently performing in a highly targeted environment. This is a full time role on 6 month contract initially, with a view to it then becoming a permanent job. This job would involve an immediate start for the right person. You will be reporting to the Placement Co-ordinator.

Principal accountabilities for this job include, responding to referrals and ensuring that the person is eligible for a service and assisting with the identification and recruitment of eligible job seekers. Carrying out vocational profiling and identifying skills, strengths, preferences and support needs, including assisting in compiling application forms and recording of medical information. Ensuring through monitoring that participants progress towards, into, and within work through the use of action planning processes. Identifying suitable employers and vacancies for customers, creating placements and supported employment opportunities.

The successful Employment consultant will have experience of training people with Mental Health, Physical and or Sensory difficulties. You will have experience of undertaking variousindustrial/ commercial activities and experience in employment of disadvantaged job seekers.You will have knowledge of barriers to employment for people with disabilities and experience of working in a target driven setting. You will hold an Information Advice and Guidance (IAG) qualification at level 3 or working towards this. A Diploma/ Certificate in supported employment or equivalent experience. GCSE C or above in Maths and English or equivalent.

You will have a basic salary of 19,422 pro-ratered. After 6 month probationary period you can apply for the non-contributory pension scheme, you will have a company mobile phone and business cards. Parking is available on an ad hoc basis. You will have 25 days holiday pro-ratered.
